Catch them before they catch you.

Amazon MGM Studios has unveiled the first trailer for “Crime 101,” starring Chris Hemsworth and Halle Berry. The film will be released in theaters on Feb. 13.

Set against the backdrop of Los Angeles, “Crime 101” follows the story of an elusive jewel thief (Hemsworth) who plots high-stake heists across the 101 freeway. As he is preparing for his final job, he crosses paths with an insurance broker (Berry), forcing the two to collaborate and work together. When a restless detective (Mark Ruffalo) closes in on the operation and the multimillion-dollar heist gets closer, the line between the hunter and the hunted blur, forcing all three of them to confront their actions. 

Additional cast members for “Crime 101” include Monica Barbaro, Barry Keoghan, Corey Hawkins, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Nick Nolte, Tate Donovan, Devon Bostick, Payman Maadi, Babak Tatfi, Deborah Hedwall, Paul Adelstein, Drew Powell, Matthew Del Negro and John Douglas.

The film is an adaptation of Don Winslow’s novella of the same name. “Crime 101” is directed by Bart Layton (“American Animals,” “The Imposter”). Layton co-wrote the screenplay with Peter Straughton, who previously won the Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay for his work on “Conclave” in 2025.

“Crime 101” is produced by Hemsworth, Layton, Ben Grayson, Eric Fellner, Tim Bevan, Dimitri Doganis, Derrin Schlesinger, Shane Salerno. Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, Raw, Working Title Films, The Story Factory and Wild Slate serve as producers for the film. “Crime 101” will be distributed by Amazon MGM Studios in the United States, with Sony Pictures Releasing International handling international distribution.
