Chinese singer-actor Han Geng, formerly of K-pop boy band Super Junior, is now a father of two.
The 41-year-old announced on Chinese social media platform Weibo on Oct 24 that his wife, Hong Kong-American actress Celina Jade, 40, has given birth to their second child.
The couple, who tied the knot in New Zealand on Dec 31, 2019, also have a three-year-old daughter.
“Our ‘good’ news,” Han and Jade wrote in Chinese, sharing a photo of their family of four and tagging each other in their respective posts on Oct 24.
Their second child is a boy as the Chinese character for “good” is formed by two Chinese radicals: one for girl, woman or daughter, and the other for child or son.
The couple also shared a photo of the fingers of their family of four, alluding to their Weibo post on May 4 when they announced the pregnancy.
Back then, Jade shared a photo of three hands – belonging to herself, Han and their daughter – making a circle around an ultrasound baby scan.
“Snap! Our first family photo of four,” wrote the actress best known for starring in American superhero TV series Arrow (2012 to 2020) and hit Chinese action flick Wolf Warrior 2 (2017).
Han shared her post on Weibo and wrote: “We’ve progressed to the next level.”
He is best known as a former member of South Korean music group Super Junior, which debuted in 2005, and the leader of their sub-unit Super Junior-M, which focused on the Chinese market.
Han filed to terminate his 13-year contract with Super Junior’s agency SM Entertainment in 2009 and reached a mutual agreement with the company in 2011.
He returned to China and released three albums between 2010 and 2015. He dropped his latest album, Wind Whispers, in August to mark his 20th year in show business.
Han also ventured into acting and has starred in Chinese films like youth romance So Young (2013) and romantic comedy series Ex-Files (2014 to 2023).
