Garmin has moved its older Forerunner smartwatches onto a new beta update, three weeks after last updating the Forerunner 255, Forerunner 955, Forerunner 165, Forerunner 265 and Forerunner 965 with their first v26.xx updates. To recap, each smartwatch received over half a dozen bug fixes from System Software 25.06 that debuted a few days earlier.

Now, the company is transitioning its five Forerunner smartwatches to Beta Version 26.07. As far as we can tell, the update contains the same changes across all smartwatches, including the Forerunner 165 (curr. $249 on Amazon). On the one hand, Garmin has packaged multiple changes into one line, which it refers to as ‘various bug fixes and improvements’.

Unfortunately, the company has elected against being more specific in this regard. On the other hand, it claims that Beta Version 26.07 addresses an issue that could cause some Garmin Coach workouts to appear blank. At this stage, it remains unclear when Garmin will transition v26.xx development to its stable software channel. Recent release schedules suggest that Beta Version 26.07 could be the final update in this cycle, though.
