Leeds United secured a 2-1 victory at home to West Ham.
Leeds suffered a defeat against Burnley last time out, piling more pressure on them to get a result against West Ham at Elland Road.
Things got off to a perfect start for the Whites, who took the lead through Brenden Aaronson inside the first three minutes, not long before Lucas Perri was called upon for the first time on his return to the starting 11.
Joe Rodon doubled Leeds’ advantage 12 minutes later, heading home from a Sean Longstaff corner, giving the Whites some early breathing space.
From there on, the Whites seemed to be coasting to a 2-0 win, before Mateus Fernandes pulled one back in injury time.
It proved to be nothing but a consolation goal for the Hammers.

Not only did Rodon score Leeds’ second goal, but he was outstanding throughout the clash at Elland Road.
The Welshman won the ball more often than not at the back and was neat and tidy when in possession for the Whites.
- One goal scored
- 92% pass accuracy
- 75% long ball accuracy
- Nine clearances
- One tackle
- One block
It won’t come as a surprise to anyone who has watched Leeds this season, given the fact that Rodon has consistently been one of the best players on the pitch, even in the games where the result has not gone their way.

While West Ham started the game without a striker, Rodon barely gave Callum Wilson a sniff when he was introduced, showcasing his colossal display at the back.
Why is Daniel Farke sticking with Dominic Calvert-Lewin?
Dominic Calvert-Lewin is simply being carried by his teammates this season, after another goalless display at Elland Road.
The 28-year-old worked his socks off and never stopped running, but offered absolutely nothing to the game when Leeds were in possession.
- 47% pass accuracy
- Zero shots on target
- 10 aerial duels lost
His aerial duel win rate was hardly inspiring, and on the occasions he was in possession of the ball, he proceeded to give it away more often than not.

Daniel Farke’s reluctance to make changes at Leeds is showcased by the fact that the Englishman has remained in the starting 11 throughout the last few games, and it is something he needs to change.
