Communities across Derry and Donegal will come together today to say goodbye to popular Letterkenny schoolteacher Seamus Quinn.
Mr Quinn passed suddenly last week at the age of 63.
Mr Quinn, who taught Spanish at Loreto Secondary School in Letterkenny, was a passionate and dedicated teacher.
“Seamus was an exceptional teacher and a really supportive colleague to all. He was a man who had time for everyone and he will be dearly missed. He leaves behind a legacy of academic excellence and kindness,” said a tribute from the school.
Mr Quinn also previously taught at Crana College in Buncrana, where he is remembered as a man whose “kindness, good humour, and warm welcome were felt by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him”.
Requiem Mass for Seamus Quinn, late of 18 Mansefield Grove, will take place this morning, Monday, at St Patrick’s Church, Pennyburn at 10:00am. Followed by private cremation.
He was the beloved husband of Jacqueline and loving father of Caitlín, Seamus, Mícheál, Roisín and Diarmuid. Dear son of the late James and Sheila. Dear Brother of Gerard, Dermot, Aileen, Oonagh and the late Siobhan.
The family have asked that instead of Mass cards and flowers, donations can be made via the link below or via a cash bucket at the home to Men’s Action Network in memory of Seamus: https://gofund.me/716f03a85
