A ‘sinister’ message from David Harbour to Lily Allen has emerged again following the release of the singer’s latest album.
In her latest record, West End Girl, Lily opens up on the breakdown of her marriage to the Stranger Things actor.
On one track, Lily seemingly ‘name-drops’ the woman David is alleged to have had an affair with, whilst on another, she recounts turning to theatre following her return to London after initially relocating to New York City to be with him.
Upon her move back to Britain, she claimed their relationship began to deteriorate.

In the new song, Lily sings: “I said I got some good news I got the lead in a play, that’s when your demeanour started to change,” which appears to directly reference her role in 2:22 A Ghost Story, reports the Mirror.
Lily received a Laurence Olivier award nomination for her performance in the production, and during that period, she posted a photograph of this message David had written for her.
Whilst she initially regarded it as a funny joke, fans are now branding the note as “sinister”.
The message which David penned to Lily stated: “My ambitious wife, these are bad luck flowers, ’cause if you get reviewed well in this play you will get all kinds of awards and I’ll be miserable. Your loving husband.”
Several fans were quick to respond to the message, with one posting: “The entire note screams of sarcasm and dark humour.”

Nevertheless, another responded: “Agreed, but this comment is a long way from falling into the ‘Break A Leg’ category of saying mean things but meaning them in the best way possible..”
Another said in response: “What it doesn’t scream, is support, which is probably what someone needs more than sarcasm and dark humour on an occasion like that. It’s selfish, end of.”
Lily has been candid about how her latest album captures a range of emotions – including feelings of “abandonment”.
She revealed: “I have deep-rooted issues with rejection and abandonment which I’ve been wrestling with for most of my adult life and probably quite a lot of my childhood as well. And I was having, like, an extreme reaction to things at the time.”
Opening up to Perfect magazine about those “things” being the breakdown of her marriage, she continued: “It’s hard for me to not have my person, you know? And I am quite a co-dependent person.
“I find it difficult to lean on the people who are available to me when I’m missing the comfort and stability of what is not available to me. I know that what I have to do is to be able to make myself happy and that is a source of extreme irritation for me.
“It means doing the f***ing work, and I feel like I’ve been doing the work for fucking ages. I’m exhausted by it. And I thought it was done. I thought it was happily ever after, you know?”.
