It is the start of a new era for Scotland’s most successful jumps yard, as Lucinda Russell has been joined on the licence by Michael Scudamore.

A Cheltenham Festival and Welsh Grand National-winning trainer in his own right, Scudamore was Russell’s assistant for two seasons, but he has stepped forward to share the honours at the dual Grand National-winning stable.

“It’s been pretty seamless,” says Scudamore. “It was always a plan since coming up to get it done eventually. As ever with these things it takes a bit of time, but it’s been great to finally get it done.”
