Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas‘ daughter Carys is following in her parents’ footsteps.
Speaking exclusively to PEOPLE at the 2025 PAC NYC Icons of Culture Gala on Tuesday, Oct. 28, which she attended with her famous father, the 22-year-old revealed she plans to get more into performing arts following her graduation from college.
“I grew up doing theater, and I didn’t study acting in school, but that’s why I’m happy to be in such an informative arts space, so hopefully more of that,” she tells PEOPLE.
Back in May, Zeta-Jones, 56, and Douglas, 81, who also share son Dylan, 25, celebrated Carys’ graduation from Brown University after achieving a degree in Film and International Relations.
“The night before graduation!!!! We are both such proud parents right now!! It’s only just begun!!,” Zeta-Jones’ caption read as she and Douglas kissed both of Carys’ cheeks in a sweet snap.
The Wednesday actress also shared a photo of a cake on her Instagram Stories with frosting that read, “Congratulations Graduation Class of 25.”

A picture of Carys and her classmates on the steps of the Ivy League college was also on display.
While Zeta-Jones was present at her daughter’s graduation, she was noticeably absent at the PAC NYC Icons of Culture Gala on Tuesday, giving Carys the chance to admit to PEOPLE that she often takes items from her mother’s closet.
“I feel I love vintage clothes. I don’t really like to buy, I’m not really into fast fashion stuff, just for sustainability reasons, so I feel very lucky that I have a wonderful closet that I can pick from, but I should probably tell her more, because I snag a little too much. She’s like, ‘Is that my bag?’ I’m like, ‘I don’t know. I don’t think so,’ ” she says.

Speaking about what it meant to attend the event with his daughter, Douglas tells PEOPLE, “It’s very nice. I mean, I’m sorry Catherine’s missing it tonight.”
“She’s working, but I’m very happy that Carys could be with me, just to be with her, but also I’m on the board here at PAC,” he continues. “You see this all come together, as successfully as it had, and this whole concept of icons, especially for New York, is a really good idea. I like it.”
In addition to Carys and son Dylan, 25, whom he also shares with Zeta Jones, Douglas is also the father of son Cameron, 46, with his ex-wife Diandra Luker.
