Boy Meets World star William Daniels delivered a lesson to President Donald Trump much like his fictional educator character, Mr. Feeny, used to teach valuable insights in the beloved 1990s sitcom.

The 98-year-old performer recently turned to social media to criticize 79-year-old Trump’s extensive White House renovations. He condemned the POTUS for choosing to tear down the East Wing to make way for a $300 million ballroom project that continues to face significant controversy. On Monday, William shared a vintage photograph of himself in full costume from the acclaimed Broadway production 1776, in which he portrayed founding father John Adams.

William spoke candidly when he recalled performing for President Richard Nixon in the section of the White House that now faces demolition.

“We performed ‘1776’ in the beautiful East Room when Nixon was in the White House. He was very gracious even though none of us had voted for him,” he wrote in his post.

Near the conclusion of his message, he stated, “The current president has ripped a piece of history from our lives, and we mustn’t take this lightly.”

Nevertheless, the East Room, where William and his co-performers once entertained Nixon decades earlier, isn’t thought to be part of the areas being demolished.

Trump allegedly expressed dissatisfaction for some time that the approximately 200-person capacity space was insufficient for the grand occasions he wanted to host at the White House. Trump intends to construct a 90,000-square-foot ballroom capable of accommodating up to 999 guests.

This ballroom will be substantially larger than the historic space and could connect directly to the East Room. Construction teams have already demolished offices previously utilized by First Ladies to create space for the expansion.

The White House renovation has generated significant controversy and criticism. Opponents have charged Trump with destroying history.

Trump’s backers believe the president has the right to make modifications during his presidency.

Social media has become the focal point for many of these discussions, particularly following William’s comment.

“I always knew I could trust Mr. Feeny to be on the right side of history,” one fan wrote online.

Another explained, “Of course, Mr. Feeny would be on the correct, decent, dignified, and sane side of history. That’s not a shock at all.”

One clapped back, “What did he rip down? The end of a building erected in the 1940s? Oh our treasured past! ! ! Spare me the feigned outrage, Feeny.”
