Principal Declan O’Toole said Oklahoma! was a wonderful celebration of the talent and teamwork from students at the school and spoke of the success of the night.

“Our students were simply outstanding – both on stage and behind the scenes, and I’m so proud of everything they achieved,” he said.

More than 60 students took to the stage, while many others contributed behind the scenes by managing props, ushering guests, and selling programmes and tickets.

On the night, Creagh College was also delighted to see the return of former principal Paul Glynn, who took to the stage performing as Andrew Carnes.

Cast and crew had been rehearsing since August, which the school said paid off through their hard work and commitment. The show was coordinated by Ciara Spellman and was directed by Eoghan Fingleton, choreographed by Clodagh Donohue and featured musical direction from Denise Brennan-Hughes.

The leading cast included Matthew Byrne, Gemma Kavanagh, Jasmine O’Donoghue, Finn Standing, Matt Carroll and Ellie Twomey, who treated audiences to a number of vocal performances.

The school said audiences were especially entertained by Gary Butler’s comic portrayal of Ali Hakim, which drew plenty of laughter throughout the show’s run.

Principal Declan O’Toole further thanked staff for their commitment to the students. “I also want to sincerely thank all our amazing staff who volunteered so much of their time to guide, support and encourage the students throughout this journey.

“Their dedication and generosity made this production such a memorable success,” he added.
