The Letterkenny Pipe Band struck a high note at the World Pipe Band Championships over the weekend.

The band were competing in the fiercely contested Grade 4B category.

The grade, which drew 42 pipe bands from around the globe, was split into two qualifying heats.

Letterkenny delivered a standout performance in their heat, clinching first place out of 25 international competitors and securing a coveted place in the final.

In the ultimate showdown of 12 bands, the group went on to achieve an impressive second-place finish.

The band fielded 25 players, nine of whom were under the age of 18. For four of these young musicians, this was their very first experience competing on the world stage.

Their success highlights both the talent and dedication across the band’s ranks, from seasoned performers to its newest.

Conor Molloy, the Pipe Major, expressed immense pride in the achievement, noting the result as another milestone in the bands history.
