The annual rate of inflation in the eurozone slowed in October to just above the European Central Bank’s target, giving policymakers little immediate reason to contemplate another change in their key interest rate.

The European Union’s statistics agency Friday said consumer prices in the 20 countries that share the euro were 2.1% higher than a year earlier, a decline in the annual rate of inflation from the 2.2% recorded in September. The ECB targets an inflation rate of 2%.
