She’s married to the late queen’s godson and lives on the grounds of the ‘Downton Abbey’ house, but the Cork chef prides herself on staying grounded. Here, she talks about turning 50, building her own pub and how sorting out her hormones changed her life

When Clodagh McKenna moved out of London and to the English countryside eight years ago, she knew that she would miss her social life in the capital, not to mention the buzz of London’s Irish pubs. So she decided to build one herself on the grounds of her new home.

“When I was living there and Harry (Herbert, her now husband) and I were dating, I had all my friendship group there and everything, and we’d go for drinks on a Friday night,” she says, via Zoom from her stylish kitchen in the townhouse she owns in London.
