Ireland second-row Tadhg Beirne will face a disciplinary hearing tonight following his controversial early red card during his side’s 26-13 defeat to the All Blacks in Chicago last Saturday.
Beirne was initially shown a yellow card in the third minute for an alleged dangerous tackle on Beauden Barrett before it was upgraded to a 20-minute red card. New Zealand out-half Barrett said afterwards that he didn’t believe the offence merited a red card.
