Frequently seen in the Transformers franchise in the 2010s, Drift is one of the newest additions to the Autobot roster. Now, a recreation of his cinematic debut is being released by a frequent collaborator for Hasbro’s robots in disguise.
The Transformers: Age of Extinction – 16cm Drift Model Kit – AMK PRO Series figure by Yolopark is based on the samurai-based Autobot’s robot mode from the movie of the same name. Officially licensed by Hasbro and coming out over 10 years after the film itself, this collectible expertly turns the complex movie model into perhaps his best toy yet. Available now for pre-order, fans can look forward to the Autobot drifting into their collection soon.
Transformers Samurai Autobot Drift Slashes Into Yolopark’s AMK PRO Series
Yolopark’s new figure for the Autobot Drift is based on his appearance in the 2014 movie Transformers: Age of Extinction, complete with the samurai features of his robot mode. Standing at just over six inches in height, this non-transforming kit figure is loaded with detail and articulation. From the armor-plated limbs to the die-cast inner “skeleton,” it has a tactile nature that’s incredibly sturdy. It also has magnetically controlled eyes that light up with ease, and making things even simpler is the fact that it comes pre-assembled. While it doesn’t transform, the toy does bear many elements of his alternate mode, such as the chest made out of the hood of the Bugatti Veyron vehicle mode.
Along with Drift himself, the other elements included are an energon base/stand, two samurai swords, three sets of interchangeable hands, one set of articulated hands and the instructions. With these, Drift can slash and strike at enemy Decepticons with ease. The kit can now be pre-ordered for $53.99, and it’s expected to be released by the end of 2025. This is over 11 years after Transformers: Age of Extinction was released in theaters, with this being the debut of the character outside the IDW Transformers comic books. Yolopark has produced numerous kits based on the brand’s live-action and animated movies, as well as designs derived from the original Generation 1 incarnation. Besides Drift’s cinematic design, other samurai Transformers include recently revealed Transformers: Timelines action figures based on Optimus Prime, Starscream, Bumblebee and Megatron.
