Could Prince Harry be the next Mountbatten Windsor in line to lose his royal titles?
After the 41-year-old’s father, King Charles III, made the shocking decision last week to strip his brother Andrew Mountbatten Windsor (formerly Prince Andrew) of his “Style, Titles and Honours,” royal watchers are speculating it may also happen to Harry.
In June 2022, British politician Rachael Maskell proposed the Removal of Titles Bill that would grant the king legal power to “remove any title” either “on his own initiative” or following a recommendation made by a joint committee of Parliament. Though it “did not progress beyond its first reading” at the time, Maskell relaunched the proposal last month (with the additional power for a king to also remove a title “at the request of the person” who holds it), leaving many to question Harry’s fate.
“If they pass these bills, I would not be surprised if Harry is the next one to go,” a royal source told Page Six in an article published Tuesday, November 4.

As Examiner has previously reported, Harry has begun making amends with his father amid the royal’s battle with cancer. But his estranged brother, Prince William, is next in line — and “it’s pretty much accepted within the royal household that once he does take the throne, Harry and Meghan will immediately get their titles yanked,” an insider told Examiner.
“I would not be surprised if William does that,” said the Page Six source. “He’s not a vindictive person, but he feels very let down and it’s always much more difficult when you are let down by somebody close to you.”
“Harry must be quite scared,” the source added.
Charles’ recent decision to strip Andrew, 65, of his titles comes on the heels of the release of a memoir by the late Virginia Giuffre who alleged that the former Duke of York had sex with her when she was a minor after they met through his connection with convicted sex-trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell and late convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
Andrew has vehemently denied the claims against him.
