When former U.N. investigator Gerry Lane and his family get stuck in urban gridlock, he senses that it’s no ordinary traffic jam. His suspicions are confirmed when, suddenly, the city erupts into chaos.

A lethal virus, spread through a single bite, is turning healthy people into something vicious, unthinking, and feral. As the pandemic threatens to consume humanity, Gerry leads a worldwide search to find the source of the infection and, with luck, a way to halt its spread.

Marc Forster (Quantum of Solace) directs from a script by Matthew Michael Carnahan (Deepwater Horizon), Drew Goddard (Cloverfield), and Damon Lindelof (“Lost”), based on the 2006 novel by Max Brooks.

Brad Pitt stars with Mireille Enos and James Badge Dale. The cast also includes Peter Capaldi, James Badge Dale, David Morse, Ruth Negga, Sterling Jerins, and Matthew Fox.

World War Z scared up $540 million at the worldwide box office. A sequel remains a priority at Paramount.
