Scrolling through Instagram, it’s not uncommon to see generative artificial intelligence (AI) photos pop up. Even President Donald Trump has shared edited photos made with AI on the official White House account. But what might surprise you is a photo you think was AI, only for it to be a legitimate picture. Case in point: Tom Brady’s latest picture with his son Jack. The retired NFL quarterback just dropped a bunch of pictures of his son, who he shares with ex Bridget Moynahan, for his 18th birthday, and people are confusing it for AI for the funniest reason.
The photo is part of a carousel to highlight Jack throughout the years. This includes snaps of Jack as a boy in his dad’s locker room, of a child Jack playing football and golf, of Jack with his siblings Benjamin, 15, and Vivian, 12, who he shares with ex Gisele Bündchen, and of an adorable little Jack with spaghetti all over his face. The photo people had a problem with, though, was actually the first one. In this picture, Brady and a now-adult Jack sit side by side at a table, smiling at the camera. Brady has a white t-shirt and a baseball cap on with his arm around his son, who is dressed in a blue polo shirt. Jack looks the spitting image of his dad — so much so, that people can’t believe the photo is actually real.

Tom Brady
“I swear to god I initially thought this was some AI generated picture of current Brady along side with 2001 Brady,” one person wrote.
“Brady clone! Jeeez,” someone else commented. “Bro looks more like tom than tom looks like tom,” another said.
In the caption, Brady wrote a heartfelt post to his firstborn. “From little steps to big dreams, happy birthday Jack,” he said. “You’ve always shown grace, courage, love and kindness since God blessed us with your arrival. I’m so proud of the man you are! Welcome to adulthood, it comes with higher credit card limits, bigger bills, and no curfew… OK maybe not all at once!”
Brady added, “There is a saying that a dad’s heart soars with his children’s happiness, not with his own…truer words could not be spoken. We love you so much and I know this will be your best year yet.”
Earlier this week, Brady shared another picture of him and Jack, this time with Jack towering over his dad. Everyone roasted him, such as fellow footballers Gronk, “Jack is way more beastly than you” and Mike Evans, “Is Jack standing on something? Besides business lol” And others who wrote things like, “Jack’s taller than Daddy 🐐.”
In November, Brady spoke up about how hard it would be to be his son at the Fortune Global Forum in New York, per Us Weekly. “To be a boy, [it] sucks to be Tom Brady’s son in so many ways,” he said. “There’s a lot of challenges I faced as a kid … my kids naturally are gonna be faced with their own challenges, and they gotta figure out how to overcome them. I’ll be there to support them and I’ll be learning along the way with them.”
He may be shorter than his son now, but Brady will always be his biggest supporter!
