Aoife Wafer insists the controversy around the bite she suffered from France forward Axelle Berthoumieu during Ireland’s World Cup quarter-final will not define her career.

Wafer, who was this week awarded the Guinness Rugby Writers of Ireland women’s XV player of the year for the second year in a row, admits frustration with how the incident was dealt with in the knockout game in September.
