An urgent product recall has been announced for several batches of a popular brownie treat amid concerns over potential “mould growth and spoilage”.
The Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) is strongly advising consumers to avoid consuming the affected product.
The recall pertains specifically to certain batches of Booja-Booja Chocolate Wonders Fudgie Brownie Organic. This product can be found in various shops across Ireland, including Holland and Barrett where it retails for €3.49.
In a statement released today, the FSAI stated: “The below batches of Booja-Booja Chocolate Wonders Fudgie Brownie Organic are being recalled due to possible mould growth and spoilage. Recall notices will be displayed at point-of-sale.
“Retailers are requested to remove the implicated batches from sale and display recall notices at point-of-sale. Wholesalers/distributors are requested to contact their affected customers and recall the implicated batches and provide a point-of-sale recall notice to their retailer customers.”, reports the Irish Mirror.
“Consumers are advised not to eat the implicated batches.”

Batch number B151 – Best before 14 April 2026.
Batch number B615 – Best before 14 April 2026.
Batch number B626 – Best before 21 April 2026.
Batch number B659 – Best before 8 May 2026.
Batch number B681 – Best before 17 May 2026.
Batch number B704 – Best before 25 May 2026.
Batch number B762 – Best before 30 June 2026.
