Department of Transport officials decried at Public Accounts Committee for lack of transparency around motorist compliance

The Department of Transport has admitted it does not know how many drivers are failing to pay motor tax and that it does not have a system to monitor compliance.
Yesterday, representatives from the department appeared before the Public Accounts Committee to discuss last year’s financial statements for motor tax.
