For many Sister Wives fans, one of the more shocking revelations in reality star Christine Brown‘s recent memoir was the fact that her ex-husband Kody Brown and his last remaining wife Robyn Brown had “severed ties” with Christine and Kody’s daughter Mykelti Brown Padron. Now, the 29-year-old is shedding light on where things stand.
“As of now, Robyn and I aren’t currently talking a whole lot,” said Mykelti during an appearance on the Pop Psych YouTube show on November 4. “We haven’t cut off our relationship. We haven’t done anything like that. We’re not cut off from each other. We’re just not actively communicating.”
Mykelti, who recently moved from Utah to Charlotte, North Carolina with her husband Tony Padron and their three children, went on to say that in the past she has felt like “a bridge trying to keep my family together” in large part because she was the only one out of the 13 siblings from Kody’s first three marriages (to Mykelti’s mom Christine, Meri Brown, and Janelle Brown) who had a good relationship with Robyn, 47. (Robyn and Kody also share five children.)

“The reason I left [Utah] was because I needed to figure out who I am and what my feelings are. It goes back to that,” said Mykelti, adding that the current family dynamic has left her questioning why her and Robyn became so close when Robyn joined the family as Kody’s fourth wife in 2010.
“If she in the past saw me as the ‘weak link,’ so she targeted me and wanted to have a relationship with me so she could have a foot in the door, I don’t like that. If that was her intention,” said Mykelti. “People have put that notion in my head. I’ve also tried to read up on behavior stuff.”

Despite her doubts, Mykelti went on to acknowledge that Robyn’s interest in her likely was not all malicious. “I think that the true reason [we gravitated towards each other] is because she saw that I needed help. She saw that I was hurting and that I was struggling with my siblings and with my family and so she sought me out as trying to just be there for me. So thats the back and forth. I have both opinions and both things in my head. It could be both. I’m all over the place and confused.”
And she also revealed that whatever the reason for their bond, Robyn’s support came at a time when she desperately needed it. “I was at the point in my life when she first joined [the family] that I don’t know if I would have been here today had she not, I guess, saved me, rescued me, been there for me. I don’t know that I’d be here.”
