  • Charli xcx has revealed the details of her BRAT follow-up. It’s an all-original soundtrack to Emerald Fennell’s upcoming adaptation of Charlotte Brönte’s classic novel Wuthering Heights, and its due out on February 13th via Atlantic Records.

Today, the artist also shared a new song from the album, “Chains Of Love.” It follows the records debut single, “House,” which features The Velvet Underground’s John Cale and dropped earlier this week. A full tracklist for Wuthering Heights, which Charli xcx wrote and produced primarily with Finn Keane (AKA Easyfun), remains TBA.

In a recent Substack post, the BRAT artist expanded on the Wuthering Heights writing and recording process, explaining that Fennell initially asked her to write just one song for the film, before Charli proposed a larger project.

“I suggested ‘An album?’ because why not? I wanted to dive into persona, into a world that felt undeniably raw, wild, sexual, gothic, British, tortured and full of actual real sentences, punctuation and grammar. Without a cigarette or a pair of sunglasses in sight, it was all totally other from the life I was currently living. I was fucking IN.”

Charli xcx released her most recent album, the GRAMMY-nominated BRAT, in June 2024. She followed it up with a deluxe edition, Brat and It’s the Same but There’s Three More Songs So It’s Not, and a remix album, Brat and It’s Completely Different but Also Still Brat.
