Sense and Sensibility hit the screen back in 1995 via Sony Pictures Classics directed by Ang Lee with a feature adaptation by Emma Thompson which also won her an Adapted Screenplay Oscar. She also starred in the movie as Elinor Dashwood, with Kate Winslet playing daughter Marianne. The movie received seven Oscar nominations overall and grossed more than $134 million at the global box office.
Focus has global rights on the new movie and UPI will handle international distribution for the studio.
