Overall mart averages were down across the country last week, but outside the dairy strongholds, the prices continue to reflect the quality of the breeding.
In Tuam, Balla, Roscommon and Ballinasloe, continental bullocks from €300-600kg made 35c/kg more than the national average, with steers over 600kg better by 15-20c/kg.
