Former finance minister Paschal Donohoe has said he never had any ambition to become taoiseach during his lengthy career in politics.
The Fine Gael TD for Dublin Central announced yesterday that he would be vacating his ministerial position to take up the role of managing director and chief knowledge officer in the World Bank in Washington DC.
