Boost for scores of pensioners checking bank accounts today
Some pensioners have received payments early.
Millions of state pensioners have woken up to surprise payments today, Friday, August 22.
Pension payments have landed earlier than usual in some bank accounts.
This is because of the August bank holiday on Monday, which has resulted in a change in dates for some payments.

Pensioners affected are those due to receive payments on Saturday, Sunday and Monday (August 23, 24 and 25).
These households should notice pension payments landing in their bank accounts today instead.
The DWP doesn’t process payments on bank holidays, so money is sent out early.
It only affects pensioners due to receive their money on those dates.
Claimants of DWP benefits like Universal Credit will also be impacted.
Pensioners receiving their payments early are reminded they will need to make their cash stretch further than usual.
