Spencer Lofranco has tragically died at the age of 33. The actor, who played John Travolta’s son in the mobster film Gotti, passed away on Tuesday. His brother Santino announced the news with an emotional post on social media.

On Thursday evening, he told his Instagram followers: “To the legend @roccowinning. My brother. You lived a life only some could dream of. You changed people lives, and now you are with God. I will always love you and miss you Bear. RIP. October 18, 1992 – November 18, 2025.” A cause of death is yet to be announced, and officials in British Columbia are investigating the tragedy.

Spencer was best known for starring in the lead role of James Burns in the 2014 drama Jamesy Boy. He played a teenager who had been imprisoned for selling guns and possessing drugs. He followed this up with roles in two other crime dramas, Unbroken, opposite Angelina Jolie, and Dixieland, which were released in 2014 and 2015 respectively, Mirror UK reports.

Following this, he appeared alongside Molly Ringwald and Christian Slater in the 2016 biopic King Cobra, which focused on the early career of gay adult film star Sean Paul Lockhart, and followed this up by starring as John Travolta’s on-screen son in the 2018 film Gotti.

Since then, the star had chosen to remain largely out of the public eye and while he never officially announced his retirement from acting, he never appeared in another role.

In 2013, he was convicted of misdemeanour hit-and-run after running into cyclist Camille Banham with his SUV and received 50 days of community service. She suffered a broken hip, several fractures and had to use a wheelchair until she learned to walk again.

Two years after the incident, Camille claimed that she had stopped thinking of the whole ordeal as an accident, as she alleged that the actor hadn’t helped her at the scene.

She said: “I used to call what happened to me an accident, and it would’ve been an accident if Spencer had stayed and helped me after he got out of his car and saw me injured on the side of the road, but instead he chose to leave me.”

Despite this, Spencer’s attorney Michael Levi said at the time: “It was an accident. The crime here was not leaving his identification at the scene. That’s not what injured her, and for that reason you have to look at not so much the injuries as you have to look at what happened after and what happened after does not make him a monster.”

In the years that followed, Spencer chose a much quieter life and began to sell art under the name of Fire.
