Two women and a child were rushed to hospital with serious injuries following a two-vehicle road traffic collision in Co Antrim
The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) and members of the emergency services rushed to the scene following reports of a collision which occurred on the Old Ballynahinch Road, outside Saintfield, at around 5pm yesterday afternoon.
Members from Northern Ireland Ambulance Service (NIAS) and Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service attended and five people – a man, two women and two children – were taken to hospital.
An NIAS spokesperson said three patients were taken to the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast and two were taken to the Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children.
Both women and one child are being treated for injuries which are described as “serious”.
The PSNI said The Old Ballynahinch Road was closed for a time due to the road traffic collision, but has since reopened.
An investigation into the two-vehicle collision is underway and the PSNI are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident to contact them.
PSNI Sergeant Campbell said: “We are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this, or who may have dashcam footage of the area between 4:45pm and 5:30pm to please get in contact with officers on 101, quoting reference 1021 of 22/11/25.”
