If you somehow let the first, short season of Mammoth (BBC Two, Monday, December 1) fly under your radar in 2024 – and I admit it took me a while to catch up with it – then you missed out on an absolute gem of a comedy.
Welsh comedian, actor, radio presenter and podcaster Mike Bubbins’s marvellous creation, an unreconstructed 1970s PE teacher called Tony Mammoth who’s transplanted to the present day, didn’t stick around long in 2024, just three episodes.
