A local bartender has said that the Covid 19 has changed people’s attitude to going to the pub.

Brian O’Harte is the owner of the Roost Bar on Fermanagh Street in Clones.

Now in his tenth year running the pub, the publican said that the most notable change is the price of a pint.

However, he noted that since the panedemic, people have been going out earlier, and going home earlier.

Brian also outlined that it can be emotional as a bartender when older customers pass away.

Speaking to Northern Sound, Brian explained how the industry has changed over the past decade.

Mr. O’Harte said: “Covid changed people’s attitude towards the pub, not always in a negative way.

“I find people are out a little bit earlier, and home a little bit earlier, which suits me down to the ground.

“It’s changed, it has changed, but thankfully not too much.

“You’ve seen a couple of customers pass away. Older customers, you get to know them,” the publican explained.
