Hobby comrades, in my quest to find a hobby, one thing has become abundantly clear: I have grown to love exercise classes. But I’ve also realised that I may have been taking the easy route with the likes of barre, reformer Pilates, girly-whirly movement and so on (Tread & Shred at Perpetua being the only exception). Meanwhile, the big scary gym classes have been ignored. And by scary, I mean CrossFit.
What exactly is CrossFit? Well, it’s a strength-and-conditioning training style that mixes weightlifting, gymnastics and high-intensity cardio. Think running, rowing, jumping, panting, screaming and crying all in the one class. The goal of CrossFit is to build the most well-rounded fitness possible.
