Martin O’Neill ends his Celtic tenure with a win over Dundee at Parkhead.

Taking over with Celtic eight points behind Hearts, O’Neill leaves Paradise unbeaten domestically after the Celtic Park win over Dundee tonight.

With the gap at the top of the Scottish Premiership table cut to two points, O’Neill superbly managed to level up with Derek McInnes’ side.

Despite that, the Northern Irishman leaves Celtic with plenty of love from the fans after steadying the ship, improving the team and getting some really important results domestically and in Europe.

And speaking post-match after the Dundee win, the departing Celtic boss sent an emotional message to the fans as his Parkhead exit looms.

As the final whistle blew, O’Neill took the acclaim of the Celtic supporters in the stands.

And as he was about to leave the pitch, O’Neill delivered a heartfelt farewell to the Hoops support.

O’Neill told Celtic TV on the pitch, “That’s why they are champions. That’s the reason they’ve been absolutely fantastic, and it’s been a privilege to work with them.

“A real privilege to work with them, and I’ve had the time of my life here in the last five or six weeks. Thank you.”

And when asked for his final message to the Celtic supporters, the departing Hoops boss was clearly emotional as O’Neill replied, “Celtic supporters, they just need reminding that they are the best in the world.”

O’Neill’s second tenure at Celtic was undoubtedly very successful. Celtic wins over Rangers in the Premier Sports Cup and Feyenoord in the Europa League were just two of the remarkable results the Hoops legend achieved.
