Billy Ray Cyrus is sending congratulations to the happy couple.
After Page Six confirmed on Tuesday, December 2, that Miley Cyrus is engaged to Maxx Morando following four years of dating, the Disney Channel alum’s father had some kind words to share.
The “Achy Breaky Heart” singer posted a carousel of photos to Instagram on Wednesday, December 3, featuring a throwback of him and Miley with country queen Dolly Parton.
“No wonder you turned out so special … You have the greatest Godmother in the world!!! @dollyparton,” Billy Ray, 64, captioned the post. “So happy you and MaxxAgazillion found each other!!!! Congratulations! Happy to see you both so happy!!! love Dad.”
In the Instagram post, Billy Ray also shared two photos of the “Wrecking Ball” singer, 33, and her new fiancé, 27. One of them was from the red carpet of Monday’s Avatar: Fire and Ash world premiere, where Miley’s engagement ring was on full display.

The post comes after Miley released the song “Secrets” in September and called it a “peace offering” for her father. The pair’s relationship reportedly became strained after he divorced his wife, Tish Cyrus, in 2022 and got engaged to singer Firerose four months later.
Around the time of the song’s release, the Grammy Award winner shared a snippet from its accompanying music video on Instagram and revealed who the track was for.
“This song was written as a peace offering for someone I had lost for a time but always loved,” Miley explained in her caption. “In my experience, forgiveness and freedom are one and the same.”
“This song is for my dad,” she added.
She also discussed the tune during a recent CBS Sunday Morning interview, revealing that she gifted it to him for his birthday.
“My dad cried, which, you know… Everyone I say that to, they go, ‘I remember when my dad cried.’ You know, you don’t see your dad cry a lot,” she said. “And when you remember that, whether it’s happy tears or painful tears… I don’t know if I’ve seen my dad cry since his dad passed away.”
“I think they were mixed emotions,” she continued, “because there’s things that, for us — me and my dad — we just kind of moved forward. We didn’t feel that there needed to be a whole conversation because him and I just communicate better through song.”
