Two female paramedics were injured following a horror ambulance crash while responding to a callout in Inishowen yesterday morning.
The incident occurred in the Carndonagh area at around 10:10am when the emergency vehicle struck a wall. Gardaí and emergency services rushed to the scene. No other vehicles were involved.
“Two people, two women aged in their 20s and 40s, were conveyed to Letterkenny University Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries,” a spokesperson for the Garda Press Office said.
The road was closed for a time, but has since reopened.
We have asked the National Ambulance Service (NAS) for a comment.
Earlier this year, another crash involving an ambulance occurred near Stranorlar. The incident, which also involved a car, took place in the early hours of St Patrick’s Day at Tircallan, near Kilross Junction. No injuries were reported at the time.
