Animals can be fascinating, hilarious, and absolutely adorable, but baby animals take all these qualities to new levels. For example, a playful puppy could brighten anyone’s day, and a sleeping baby donkey will go viral with no questions asked.

The group of rescued marmosets at the Sanctuary at Solid Rock already stole their rescuer’s hearts, but when a pair surprised everyone with a baby, it felt like a miracle. This is the first baby the mama marmoset has ever been able to keep, and they’re all settling into family life beautifully. A sneak peek into their life on November 25 left thousands of viewers swooning over the unbelievably tiny baby!

Could that little one be any smaller? Between their tiny size and their even tinier sounds, it’s impossible not to fall in love! Solid Rock’s fans are absolutely smitten with the baby monkey, but it sounds like no one adores them more than Mom and Dad.

“Is she extra protective of it since she’s never been able to keep her babies?” @lac2197 asked. “They’re both so precious.”

@Solidrockflorida responded, “The baby has both the mom and the dad, and they are both terrific parents. […] The first few days, they were protective with the animal caregivers, but now everybody is calm and carefree.”

Every animal family should have a life of peace and quiet after a newborn arrives, but rescued animals like these marmosets are especially deserving. They were saved from a federal wildlife trafficking ring and were likely used for breeding before beginning life anew at Solid Rock, but now they can spend relaxing days together as a family.

What Are Marmosets?

Marmosets like this pint-sized baby and their mama may be adorable, but what exactly are they? With over 50 species and dozens of distinct looks, these animals are incredibly diverse—and they’re part of the monkey family.

You might see marmosets at the zoo or in wildlife conservatories, but in the wild, they’re mostly found in Brazil. Some species are found in other areas of South America, like Ecuador and Peru, though wildlife trafficking has sadly taken some individuals to other areas of the globe.

It’s beyond heartwarming to see these animals thriving after enduring the unthinkable, but the best thought of all is that the marmoset’s new baby will know nothing but love and care for their entire life.
