Should you whiten your teeth? How do we reduce acid damage from food? And what’s the correct way to brush your teeth?
Dr Bronagh Keane, known as Ireland’s Tooth Fairy, is a leading cosmetic and preventative dentist, joins me on this week’s episode of the Real Health podcast.
I asked the dentist, why do people grind their teeth. Ireland’s Tooth Fairy explained, “Well it’s a lot to do with stress but then a lot of people are doing it during the nighttime. So people are literally doing a CrossFit class with their jaw in the middle of the night and then wondering why they’re waking up with a tired jaw or tension in the muscles.”
I asked the dental expert about the acid damage caused by fruit. She highlighted, “if you’re having your fruit with food, you’re doing no damage. But if you’re having one intake of fruit (outside mealtimes), you’re doing two times the amount of damage.”
