For whatever reason, the Galaxy Watch 6 One UI 8 update has felt slower than previous rollouts. Users in the US are starting to see Samsung’s latest upgrade to Wear OS 6 on the Galaxy Watch 6.
Samsung officially ended its One UI 8 beta program for the Galaxy Watch in November. The move meant no new users could join the beta for that device, and it also spelled out an upcoming official rollout. The official release was expected anyway, as Samsung had made One UI 8 Watch available in Korea shortly before.
Though it took some time, it looks like the Galaxy Watch 6 is getting an upgrade to Wear OS 6 on a wider scale in the US. T-Mobile and Verizon have both officially begun updating devices. Users with a Galaxy Watch 6 purchased and operated through those companies should see an update appear.
To check, users can head to the Galaxy Wearables app and dig through the settings page for the Galaxy Watch 6. From there, the watch update page is likely to show an available build.

Next year, the Galaxy Watch 6 is likely to be Samsung’s last priority as it builds on the series with expected new additions. The company is currently offering good holiday deals on the new Galaxy Watch 8, and boosted trade-ins make it worth it to trade in the Galaxy Watch 6. Still, the watch has a little over a year of support left before Samsung intends to halt updates.
