This might just be the loveliest Christmas ad in Cork this year. The famous Imperial Hotel has just released a very festive video, showing Santa Claus himself checking in for a stay at one of Cork city’s most historic hotels.

The South Mall hotel is known for going all out every Christmas, with seasonal themes, often based on a classic Christmas film. This year, it’s ‘Miracle on South Mall.’ The team have brought “charm and cheer” with festive touches, sparkling décor and a winter makeover for the festive season.

The team worked with the Cork-based video production crew Dog Day Media on the enchanting ad, channelling the nostalgia of 1947 Christmas comedy ‘Miracle on 34th Street’ starring Maureen O’Hara, John Payne, Natalie Wood, and Edmund Gwenn.

In The Imperial ad, Kris Kringle himself spends a night in a luxurious city centre suite before his biggest work day of the year. After being declared the real Santa Claus by a Cork city court, the jolly gentleman checks in on Christmas Eve and makes himself comfy, including hanging up his iconic red suit, getting served tea and scones while enjoying some light reading, and having some fun at the new Fitzgerald’s Bar. He even gets a chance to relax a bit at the Escape spa and indulge in a festive Afternoon Tea in Helena’s before his very busy evening.

The Imperial have shared the lovely video across its social media channels, or watch below. It will definitely get you in the festive mood!
