Fewer than 30,000 expected at the Aviva Stadium owing to a combination of factors

Leinster are hoping to attract a crowd of around 28,000 for tomorrow’s Champions Cup opener against Harlequins at the Aviva Stadium (5.30).
Although that figure will fall well short of the 51,700 capacity, it is still more than Leinster would have been able to accommodate at the RDS were it not currently being redeveloped. The Ballsbridge venue will have a 20,000 capacity when the revamped facility returns to use next year.
