Alex Scott has said that one of her I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! co-stars has been on a “real journey” on the programme, but hasn’t had the airtime to show it. The football legend, who was the first of this year’s campmates to be eliminated, spoke to Ranvir Singh on today’s Lorraine about scenes that may have been left on the cutting room floor.

Asked who she wants to win the show, she said: “It’s a really tough one… Ginge and Aitch, they’ve had all the airtime and everyone’s seen the bond between them.”

But while she had nothing but praise for the two lads, who are the bookies’ clear frontrunners, she singled out Shona McGarty as her personal pick – indicating that fans haven’t seen many of her jungle highlights.

“My special bond, I was with Shona,” Alex said. “I don’t think the public have seen the real journey that she’s been on during the show.

“She’s spoken about so much, about her anxieties and stuff she’s gone through in life, and her fun side. But I don’t think anyone’s seen that.”

She added: “I want her to win but it’s going to be between the boys, isn’t it? But everyone’s a winner in there. Everyone’s had their own journey, and I loved it.”

Someone else whose airtime has been a point of discussion has been Martin Kemp’s, with fans debating his screen presence online following his elimination last night.

This year’s series will finish on Sunday, 7 December, but Alex will not be in attendance, after having flown home early to support her partner Jess Glynne during a family health situation.

Alex told Ranvir: “When I came out [of camp] and saw that Jess wasn’t at the end of the bridge… her mum has suffered a really bad stroke and had to have brain surgery. So I had to rush home and be with my Jessica, as I spoke about her on the show.

“She’s in critical care at the moment, so we’ve been at the hospital every day. Straight after here, we’ll be heading there.”

Along with AngryGinge, Aitch and Shona, Jack Osbourne, Lisa Riley and Tom Reid Wilson also remain in the jungle, with two set to leave tonight.

I’m a Celebrity… airs on ITV1 and ITVX.
