EXCLUSIVE: Paramount+‘s crime drama MobLand has set Johnny Flynn (Beast) and Ophelia Lovibond (Minx) as new series regulars for Season 2, which has been in production in London for a few weeks now. The series is created by Ronan Bennett and executive produced by Guy Ritchie.

In Season 1 of MobLand, Power is up for grabs as the Harrigans and Stevenson, two warring London crime families, clash in a kill-or-be-killed battle that threatens to topple empires and ruin lives. Caught in the crossfire is Harry Da Souza (Tom Hardy), the street-smart ‘fixer’ as dangerous as he is handsome, who knows too well where loyalties lie when opposing forces collide. As kingdom goes up against kingdom, lines will be crossed – and the only saving grace is a bet-your-life guarantee: family above everything.

Pierce Brosnan plays Conrad Harrigan, a once-feared mob boss who hired Da Souza. Conrad’s wife, Maeve Harrigan (Helen Mirren), is the dangerous matriarch of the family. The cast also includes Paddy Considine, Joanne Froggatt, Lara Pulver, Anson Boon, Mandeep Dhillon, Jasmine Jobson, Emmett Scanlan, and Teddie Allen.

Also returning for Season 2 are Janet McTeer, Toby Jones, and Alex Fine, who will reprise their original Season 1 roles. Series regular McTeer stars as Kat McAllister, a top boss in the international crime underworld; guest star Fine as Donnie, Kat’s henchman and antagonist of Harry Da Souza; and series regular Jones as Colin Tattersall, a retired police detective focused on taking down the Harrigan crime family.

The British crime drama was renewed for a second season in June, following above-average ratings. As Deadline reported in June, the renewal “was paced by the premiere episode, which has amassed 26 million views over the first 70 days in the U.S and other English-speaking markets, where MobLand premiered March 30, and the first nine days for non-English speaking territories, where the show debuted May 30, according to internal streaming data.

That made it the second biggest launch for a Paramount original series behind Landman, per internal global data for the first 90 days of release.” Additionally, beginning the week following the premiere of the series’ third episode, MobLand made every Nielsen Top 10 list of Streaming Originals for the past five weeks.

Commissioned by Paramount+ and produced in association with Paramount Television Studios and 101 Studios. The series is executive produced by David C. Glasser, Ritchie, Jez Butterworth, Hardy, Ivan Atkinson, Dean Baker, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin, Bob Yari and Keith Cox.

Season 1 is available to be streamed now on Paramount+.
