Nina Rice from Belfast has built her career on a skill most cinema-goers never think about: making films “sound great” by ensuring actors’ dialogue is recorded properly alongside any background or production noise.
It is her responsibility as a sound mixer to capture every word clearly on set, often under intense time pressure and in unpredictable environments, so it can be used directly in the finished film without needing to be re-recorded later.
