It’s back to Paradise!
On Dec. 6 at Brazil Comic Con, a new teaser (watch below) and the premiere date for Season 2 of Paradise were revealed during a panel featuring creator Dan Fogelman and stars Sterling K. Brown and Shailene Woodley.
The sophomore season of the Emmy-nominated series premieres Feb. 23, with a three-episode launch, followed by weekly installments on Hulu. The show’s first season received four Emmy nominations: Outstanding Drama Series; Lead Actor for Brown; Supporting Actress for Julianne Nicholson; and Supporting Actor for James Marsden.
Here’s everything to know about the upcoming season.

THE PLOT
At San Diego Comic-Con in July, Fogelman, Brown, and Woodley were on hand to screen the opening scene from Season 2. Set before the cataclysmic events that wiped out most of the world, the scene features Woodley as a tour guide at Graceland. Viewers follow her through her daily routine, dispensing Elvis Presley trivia, tending to horses in the stables, and spending time with a colleague.
Woodley told the audience, “I was such a fan of Paradise and thought it was such a grippy show. I binged the entire series in two days,” Woodley said. “I read the script, and we jumped on a Zoom, and we had a great call.” About a week later, she needed to report to the set. “There was not a lot of time to prepare. [My performance] was very intuitive and honest.”
Fogelman also teased that Brown and Woodley would be separate for part of the season, “but their worlds intersect.”
In the teaser for the show’s second season, Xavier (Brown) can be seen going on a search for his wife, Teri (Enuka Okuma). According to Hulu, once out in the world, he learns how people survived the three years since The Day. Back in Paradise, the social fabric frays as the bunker deals with the aftermath of Season 1, and new secrets are uncovered about the city’s origins.

THE CAST
Besides Brown and Woodley, the series stars Nicholson, Okuma, Sarah Shahi, Nicole Brydon Bloom, Krys Marshall, Aliyah Mastin, Percy Daggs IV and Charlie Evans. Recurring guest stars include Marsden, Thomas Doherty, and Jon Beavers.
WHO’S BEHIND THE SHOW
Paradise is created and executive-produced by Fogelman. Brown, Jess Rosenthal, John Hoberg, Steve Beers, Glenn Ficarra, and John Requa also serve as executive producers.
