Emmerdale spoilers follow.
Emmerdale’s Ruby Miligan starts up a new business venture later this month, but will it wind down before it’s had the chance to shower her in profit? After some heavy drinking, tipsy Ruby has the brilliant idea to import wine from overseas – however, once sober, she has major hangover regret and realises that she’s ordered way too much.
Eager to help, Manpreet Sharma has a bright idea to help her friend shift the surplus stock…
“Caleb accused Ruby of not pulling her weight and cruelly told her to get herself a job during a row a few weeks ago – and now, she’s actually decided to take his harsh words on board and uncork her potential,” our Emmerdale source explains.
“Ruby uses the excess booze as an excuse to boost her enterprise. She and Manpreet become partners in wine – deciding to sell the alcohol to the people of Yorkshire.”

Ruby is soon met with her first hurdle, however, when she struggles to sell the wine in the village and receives complaints from miffed rival business owners Jai Sharma and Charity Dingle about her trading locally without a license.
“Ruby’s spontaneous business idea doesn’t exactly take off, and her plans provoke some serious sour grapes from her fellow traders,” our spy continues.
“Without a license, Ruby could be in big trouble with the law, too. Unless she plans to bribe PC Swirling with a bottle or two of the good stuff, she better get right with the law.”
However, Ruby’s bleak-seeming future as an entrepreneur begins to look up when Woolpack owner Charity makes her an offer she can’t refuse…

“Ruby and Charity would make great business partners – they’ve had some conflict in their past but some of the village’s best partnerships were previously enemies,” our mole reminds us.
“Whether Caleb will be happy with his wife getting involved with Charity or not is another story, but with the Depot recently under suspicion for drug trafficking, the Miligans may desperately need another revenue stream soon…”
Could two of the village’s strongest women be set to team up and take over Emmerdale’s wine scene? After all, great minds drink alike!
These scenes air on Tuesday 16 December. Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
