A vacant retail unit in Navan Town Centre could soon be transformed into a new medical facility under a planning application lodged with Meath County Council.

DTIL Limited Care of Lanthorn has applied for permission to convert Unit 42 — a 53.8sqm ground-floor premises accessed from the shopping mall — into a doctor’s surgery.

The proposed development includes two consultation rooms along with a reception and waiting area.

The unit, which currently has an escape door to Kennedy Road on its southern elevation, would also be fitted with new internal mall signage as well as external signage and a linear light fitting above the fascia on the Kennedy Road side.

The application seeks approval for all associated works required to facilitate the change of use from retail to medical practice.

If granted, the development would add a new healthcare service to the town centre, repurposing a previously vacant unit in one of Navan’s busiest commercial locations.
