My late mother introduced me to the Languedoc. As the new millennium dawned, she bought an old stone manse in a tiny village, not far from Carcassonne.

Along with my two young daughters, for the best part of a decade, I spent many happy summers there exploring the towns of Beziers, Pezenas and Nimes, and the gorgeous beaches of Sete, Cap d’Agde, and Valras-Plage.
