A motorist has shared prices from a Galway petrol station online showing as closes as most will get to €1 per litre these days.

Due to rising fuel prices it is becoming more and more difficult for motorists to get a full tank.

The rising costs are a huge burden to all drivers, however one motorist may have found one of the better deals for fuel in Ireland.

Posting to a fuel prices group online, the person uploaded a photo from a Go petrol station in Portumna.

The prices read Unleaded: 164.9 and Diesel: 164.9.

In other news, An Garda Siochana in Galway made a number of shocking discoveries when they pulled over a van during a patrol.

The van was pulled over on the Barna Road in the early hours of Thursday December 4.

The driver was at fault for several violations, Gardai discovered.

These included doing 75kmh in a 50kmh zone in heavy rain, an unaccompanied learner driver with no insurance and no tax and no DOE.

Gardai have since seized the vehicle, handed out multiple fines and penalty points to the driver.

Posting on social media, they said: “We stopped this van at 6am on Thursday on the Barna Road.

“We’re on patrol.
