A Co Donegal woman accused of importing cocaine into Britain is to stand trial but not until 2030.
The woman, who is aged 49 years and from Inishowen, pleaded not guilty when arraigned at Isleworth Crown Court in London today.
The woman was accompanied by members of her family to court.
Her trial is now due to commence on January 7th, 2030.
The accused was arrested at Heathrow Airport and was detained after 3.5 kilos of cocaine was found in baggage on November 7th last.
She was later charged in connection with the alleged importation of class A drugs.
A spokesperson for the National Crime Agency in Britain confirmed to us “49-year-old XXXXXXX XXXXXXX from the Inishowen area of County Donegal, Ireland will appear before Isleworth Crown Court on Monday 8 December charged with importing class A drugs.
“It follows the seizure of around 3.5 kilos of suspected class A drugs found in baggage at Heathrow on 7 November.
“Following the seizure by Border Force officers the case was passed to NCA investigators, who interviewed and charged XXXXXXX.”
