Daniel McDonnell: It’s hard to argue with that statement. Football players who navigate tough games will often talk about checkpoints within that match; getting to 15 minutes, to 30 minutes and so on. With Andrews, a similar logic may apply here. His first job is to get to Christmas without any real drama around the club. The weakening of his squad gives him an obvious excuse for any struggles but, equally, he doesn’t have the profile to comfortably withstand a really bad patch. If the feet are under the table by Christmas, he should be fine.
